Electric valve actuator replacement should be confirmed from the complete valve and control requirement—not by mounting size alone. A correct package matches the output torque or thrust, mechanical interface, voltage, command signal, feedback, operating duty and required fail action.
1. Start with the valve and mechanical interface
Identify the valve type, nominal size, pressure and service medium. For quarter-turn butterfly and ball valves, provide the required operating torque and mounting details such as an ISO 5211 interface, stem dimensions and available clearance. For linear control valves, provide the required stroke, thrust and linkage details.
2. Choose the required function
| Function | Typical requirement |
|---|---|
| On-off / open-close | Drive the valve between defined open and closed positions; often includes open/close limit switches. |
| Modulating / regulating | Position the valve in response to a variable command for flow, pressure or process control. |
| Position feedback | Transmit valve position to the control system for monitoring or closed-loop operation. |
| Manual override | Allow local operation when a project requires it. |
3. Confirm the electrical and control inputs
State the supply voltage and phase, enclosure or environmental requirement, required control signal and feedback signal. Common project requests include 4-20 mA and 0-10 V modulating commands, dry-contact open/close control, position feedback and limit switches. Include the required duty cycle and any emergency or fail-position requirement.
4. Projects specifying Rotork, AUMA or SAMSON
If a project specifies Rotork, AUMA, SAMSON or an existing actuator model, send the model number, datasheet and valve details with the RFQ. Jinkon can review the requirements and provide or replace an actuator package when the torque, interface, control function and supply availability are confirmed.

5. Submit a complete actuator RFQ
For faster technical confirmation, send the valve data sheet or photographs, current actuator nameplate, valve size, torque or thrust, mounting interface, voltage, open-close or modulating function, signal type, feedback, quantity and destination.
